Please note that I am only providing teletherapy appointments at this time.
Consultation
I offer a free 15-20 minute phone consultation to prospective clients. During this consultation, I will gather general information about your background and central concerns, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about therapy and my practice. Contact me if you would like to schedule a consultation.
Individual In-Person Psychotherapy
If we decide to meet following our initial phone consultation, our first two face-to-face therapy appointments will be used to further evaluate whether we are a good match. During these sessions, we will review confidentiality, the therapy process, and payment in order to set clear expectations for treatment. I will also use this time to gather more information about your central concerns and history. Additionally, we will have time to further address any questions or concerns you might have about therapy and my practice. If we determine for any reason that we are not a good treatment match, I will be very happy to provide you with the names of colleagues who may better meet your treatment needs.
Once we decide to work together on an ongoing basis, we will arrange to meet for regular individual appointments. Individual therapy sessions last 45-55 minutes. I typically see clients on a weekly basis at a regularly scheduled day and time. However, the frequency and duration of treatment will be determined based on your individual needs and goals for treatment.
Individual Teletherapy
Video sessions, or Teletherapy, are typically offered to clients who cannot make it to therapy in person on a regular basis. Teletherapy can also offer continuity to current clients who can't get to the office for a period of time due to vacation, weather, or illness. Video sessions also allow clients to continue treatment if they move and can no longer come to the office.
I use Zoom for Healthcare and Doxy.me for telehealth sessions. Both platforms are easy to use and are HIPAA compliant.
Teletherapy clients are welcome to come for in-person sessions at my Pittsburgh office when prior arrangements are made.
Teletherapy is limited to individuals who reside in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or Florida. I may also see established clients via telehealth if they move or travel to a state in which PsyPact has been enacted into law. Please check here for updated details about PsyPact and the eligible states.
While teletherapy is a wonderful option for many people, it is not ideal for everyone. Please contact me for more information about teletherapy services. During the consultation we can discuss whether I am able to provide teletherapy based on where you are located. We can also discuss whether teletherapy is a good treatment option for you, and answer any other questions you might have about teletherapy and my practice.
